Promotion Committee

The purpose of the Fort Bragg Promotion Committee (FBPC) is to carry on a continuing and sustainable program of advertising and promotional activities designed to make known the advantages of Fort Bragg for recreation and business. The FBPC shall determine priorities and develop and maintain a marketing plan; shall propose a budget to spend its annual allocation of funds that will best accomplish the goals of the marketing plan; and shall be responsible for the implementation of approved projects.

Each member of the Council may submit the name of a resident of the City as a nominee for a seat on the Promotion Committee. The City Council as a whole shall vote to appoint the nominee, such appointment requiring the affirmative vote of at least three City Councilmembers. Promotion Committee members shall be seated for a potential term coinciding with that of the nominating Councilmember, provided, however, that the Commissioners serve at the will of the City Council. The Committee is responsible for the promotion of Fort Bragg through various advertising and promotional activities. The Committee reports to the Finance and Administration Committee.

Funding Opportunities

The Promotion Committee also serves as a resource for promotion of local events. If you or your group is organizing a community event and need financial assistance, please consider submitting a request to the Committee. Funding is limited but if your needs meet the criteria, the Committee can offer some financial support.

NOTE: The current application period has closed. Announcements regarding the next funding period will be posted in the Spring of 2010.

Meeting Information

The Promotion Committee meets the first Thursday of each month at 3:00 p.m. at City Hall in the City Hall Conference Room (first floor), 416 North Franklin Street, Fort Bragg, California, unless otherwise noticed.

The public is encouraged to attend and participate in all committee meetings.
